How prevalent is the disease in the population?

This disease is common among people who's  ancestors come from Sharan Africa, Spanish speaking countries. Saudi Arabia, India, and Mediterranean countries. It affects about 72,000 people int  the united states. Occurs in 1 in every 500 African Americans and 1 in every 1000 to 1400 Hispanics.
