Sickle cell can be passed by people who have sickle cell trait passed through their lineage. They dont produce abnormal hemoglobin neither do they have symptoms. If you have the trait you are still a carrier. If two carriers have a child there is a 25% chance that it will have sickle cell. Sickle cell is a autosomal recessive and genetic disease.
